In this course, the students will use the LEGO® Mindstorms EV3 robotic kits and award-winning software to learn how to build and program robots. Students will be introduced to the different components of the robots and how to assemble/dissemble the robots. The instructors will guide them on the proper use of the equipment as well as how to maneuver the robots within boundaries.

Robotics II builds on the skills acquired in Robotics I. Students will learn the basics of programming using a simple, yet fundamental visual programming language, allowing them to control basic electronic components in their robots. Students will also be given advanced challenges to practice the skills learned in Robotics I.

In this course, the students will use the LEGO® Mindstorms EV3 robotic kits and award-winning software to learn how to build and program robots. This course will introduce the students to the fundamentals of robotics and will consist of many challenging obstacles which students must successfully complete. Time management, teamwork, design, organization, engineering, and logical thinking are all applied to engage students in learning. Students will be programming an autonomous robot to score points on a themed playing field and developing a solution to a problem they have identified while working with a small group. Focusing on the STEAM curriculum, students will gain additional knowledge in applied mathematics while experimenting with robots, as well as scientific analysis in an experimental manner.
